This page explains affiliate links, paid ads, and what money does not change.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you use one of those links to sign up, order, or buy, we may earn a commission or a fee. You do not pay more because a link is an affiliate link. The link may pass through an address on this site before it reaches the other site, so we can tell that the visit came from here.

Featured placements

Featured placements are paid. Some boxes on a page are paid advertisements. We label those placements Featured. A Featured label means a company paid for that placement, or we may earn a fee when you use it. A Featured placement is an ad. It is not a review, and it is not a higher organic rank.

Analytics

We count which pages are opened and a few actions, such as sending a form, opening a Featured listing, using a partner link, or submitting a review. That count stays in memory for the visit and does not use a tracking cookie. We do not send what you type into a form, including your email or phone number.

Rankings and ratings

Money never changes organic ranking or ratings. A commission, a fee, or payment for a Featured placement does not move a listing up or down in the organic list, and it does not change the ratings or reviews we publish. Organic order comes from the listing information on the page, such as profile details and reviews.
